A bit about Emily…
I live in North Carolina with my husband and our two rescue dogs and two cats. I developed a love of reading early in life. My mom and grandma both worked at the local library, so I spent a lot of my childhood hanging out between the bookshelves with my nose in a book. Now, my ideal weekend includes several hours curled up in a blanket with my cat, a romance novel, and a warm mug of coffee. When I’m not reading or editing, I enjoy birding, photography, watching football (Go Patriots!), and playing the piano.
Editing and the English language have been a key part of my professional career for nearly a decade. I’m an attorney with a J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law, where I edited for the student-run North Carolina Law Review journal. In my legal career, my eye for detail and passion for writing are crucial to ensuring my clients have the strongest case possible. Realizing that reading provides some of the happiest moments in my day, I now utilize those same skills to help authors in their pursuit to provide other readers with that little escape from everyday life. With a focus on fiction, I edit a wide variety of genres and love seeing great stories come to life. My goal as your editor is to help you strengthen and polish your writing while maintaining your unique style to ensure you have the best version ready to share with the world.
